Senior Researcher Jelena Radišić from the University of Oslo, Norway, Visits the College of Teacher Education, Ningbo University, Opening a New Chapter in International Academic Exchange

On June 1, the College of Teacher Education, Ningbo University, held a warm welcome ceremony to receive Senior Researcher Jelena Radišić from the Department of Teacher Education and School Research at the University of Oslo, Norway. This visit marks an important step in deepening academic cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of education and psychology, and in building a bridge for international exchange. The ceremony was attended by Professor Zhang Baoge, Dean of the College; Dr. Yu Lichuan, specially appointed research fellow and Deputy Leader of the College’s Internationalization Leadership Group; Associate Professor Liu Xin, Director of the International Office; and relevant faculty members and research core staff.

Dr. Yu Lichuan introduced that Senior Researcher Jelena Radišić, originally from Serbia, has a strong background in psychology and educational research. She has long been engaged in core areas such as educational technology, teaching processes, data analysis, and learning motivation, and is skilled in employing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods. She taught for seven years in Serbia before joining the University of Oslo, and has been deeply involved in multiple national educational assessment studies in Norway and Serbia, with a focus on primary and secondary mathematics education, teacher professional development, and 21stcentury skills assessment. Her research has produced substantial outcomes.

Subsequently, Associate Professor Liu Xin, on behalf of the College, extended a warm welcome to Senior Researcher Radišić and provided a detailed overview of the College’s disciplinary development, research characteristics, and international cooperation plans. He noted that this visit is a key step in advancing the College’s internationalization, offering faculty and students a valuable platform to engage with cuttingedge international educational concepts and exchange academic ideas. He expressed the hope that both sides would take this opportunity to explore diverse collaborative models, including joint teaching and research, cooperative project applications, and facultystudent exchanges.

In his concluding remarks, Dean Zhang Baoge stated that the College of Teacher Education is making every effort to advance international exchange and cooperation, and that the visit of Senior Researcher Radišić marks a new stage in the partnership with the University of Oslo. The College will fully support the researcher’s work and life during her stay in Ningbo, and hopes that both sides will enhance mutual trust and deepen friendship, promoting crosscultural research in education and psychology. He also expressed the hope that the researcher would bring back to the University of Oslo her experiences of China’s educational development, thereby fostering lasting friendship and continued exchanges between the two institutions.

During the exchange session, Senior Researcher Radišić shared her academic journey and research insights. Drawing on international educational assessment cases, she discussed the impact of different national education systems and social contexts on educational research, and engaged in indepth discussions with College faculty on topics such as disparities in family educational resources between lowincome and highincome households, and challenges in crosscultural educational assessment. Both sides reached a preliminary consensus on potential collaboration in crossdisciplinary areas including mathematics education, learning motivation, and mental health education, with a strong academic atmosphere prevailing throughout.

The welcome ceremony concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with both sides exchanging flowers and taking group photographs. In the future, the College of Teacher Education, Ningbo University, will continue to strengthen international academic exchanges, connect with highquality international educational resources with an open and inclusive attitude, promote highquality disciplinary development, and inject new momentum into cultivating educational talents with a global perspective.
